I ran across this free 2-hour seminar to be offered at RI Hospital next
Wednesday, Jan. 24.
"The Greening of Hospitals".
Wednesday, January 24, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Rhode Island Hospital, in
the George Auditorium.
The speaker is Janet Brown, of Hospitals for a Healthy Environment.

Continuing Education credit is offered to health professionals, and the
public is welcome. For details go
to: <http://www.unap.org/node/1613>http://www.unap.org/node/1613 and if
you have further questions, contact: Diane D'Errico, 401-831-3647,

SNA has long argued that the impact of a large institution like Miriam on
the surrounding community must be examined and planned for. Possible health
impacts from waste and emissions have been a longstanding source of
concern. But, facts and standards for expectations have been lacking. This
seminar would provide a framework for reasonably assessing whether Miriam
may have any impacts on our health and what they might be.
If you breathe air in Summit, you probably have an interest in what floats
down from the smokestack at our neighborhood's highest point. Give me a
call if you are interested in carpooling to attend.
