Dear Summit Neighbors,
Perhaps some of you can offer some ideas about
good local contacts for our RI landscaping and
gardening resource guide. See description below.
Note: I have left off the attachment because
of space limitations of this list. If you want
it, let me know and I'll send you one.
Thanks,

ABOUT THE LTL RESOURCE DIRECTORY
The Less Toxic Landscaping Resource Directory was
published in February, 2006, and has proved itself
a valuable resource to gardeners and homeowners
in Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and
Connecticut. The Supplement, including new
listings and corrections for 2007, will be
printed in time for distribution at the
Feb. 22-25 RI Flower & Garden Show.
FREE LISTING is available to qualifying,
organic-friendly businesses those that
offer at least some organic supplies or
services, and encourage use of such.
It is not necessary to have a completely
organic business to participate. We are
interested in seeking out those who offer
at least some products and materials that
can be helpful to the Rhode Island gardener
or homeowner seeking to engage in healthier
methods of plant sustenance and pest management.
These can range from organic nursery stock
and seeds to plant food, to compost or manure...
Sources of nematodes, pest traps, diatomaceous
earth and other natural pest control are welcomed.
We are also hoping to encourage alternatives to
lawns such as natural landscaping options,
including native plant species that thrive more
readily, and features such as stone or brick paths,
statues, etc. Finally, we wish to highlight
resources where organic and natural alternatives
are fostered through visible displays of these
products, and knowledgeable personnel who will
encourage those who want to go organic, or at
least in that direction!.
