[Summit] Things going BUMP in the night.

Maybe, but the noise was more like the car fire suggested- a gas tank
explosion or bigger. And it was only one big WOMP noise. No poppings.
And why would all those fire engines be chasing fire works???? Unless you
meant somebody's stash blew.  That might make that kind of noise.  The smell
was right.
But the foam they put on a car fire might also stink, when it gets heated by
the fire.
I hope no one was hurt, whatever it was.
