[Summit] meeting space

I would start by contact local hotels; most of them have conference spaces of varying sizes. I've attended conferences and retreats (daytime only; no overnights) at the Westin, the Biltmore, and the Marriott in Providence.

Some of the colleges and universities also rent meeting space to outside groups. Brown U has an office of conference services (call 863-6217); probably true at some other schools in the area.

Then there are private clubs. The Squantum Association in East Providence, off Veterans Memorial Parkway,  has terrific views of the bay and several different sized rooms, and can cater a meal. I'm sure there are more like this. Country clubs? It's the off-season for them, so there may be good availability in the fall.
