[Summit] Overnight on-street parking

Pete,
If anything is happening on the East side it is probably in Fox Point. I have not spoken to the people pushing the initiative in a few months but there are several very motivated people working on it.

Right now there is way too much opposition in the Summit area. It will probably take years if it ever happens.

FYI - somebody recently started a facebook group -

And then of course there is my group - www.crpp-providence.org
We are NOT having a fund raiser next month ( I have to get the website updated) but if you want a lawn sign please let me know. I would be happy to drop one off.

Best of luck with the cops.
Patrick

Does anyone know what, if anything, is going on with overnight, on-street parking for the east side? I understand it's moving forward in Ward 13 (Parade and other streets) as a pilot program.

I for one hope we get it. As someone with a home and only one parking spot, I have to call the police and get permission if I have an overnight guest. I thought as long as you called and let them know, you were OK. But that's not the case. I was told that it is up to the discretion of the person answering the phone at the police department whether or not they grant you permission.  In fact, the last time I was told I had to "make other arrangements" for my guest.

Does anyone have any insight/info on this topic?
