[Summit] strange event

It was only a minor annoyance but I am perplexed.

Yesterday afternoon someone rang our doorbell and disappeared. Young folks
who ran, said someone who happened to be arriving for a music lesson. When I
let in the student and her father, I found that the bell ringers had left on
our door mat, a small pizza box with two slices of hot pizza in it. There
are two other apartments that share a second door on our porch, but it
wasn't for them.

Is this just a prank, or something we don't get?  A weird prank. And it was
a waste of food. (I don't know any people who would eat whatever is dumped
on their door step even if they didn't keep kosher)
