I agree; Lippett Park is nice as it is.

Instead, why not set aside just a few hundred yards of the 2.5+ miles of
exquisitely manicured but essentially unused grass along the center divide
of Blackstone Boulevard?

I can't think of a better way to use lovely but pointless beautified
grassland and it would bring new character and new life to an area that has
been oppressed by those crusty old homes.

And while I'm dreaming I want a pony.

Does anyone know anything about talk of putting a community garden in
Lippett Park? There was a note in the Summit newsletter about a survey sent
to 250 households in the immediate vicinity of the park. We live on North
Avenue and have no recollection receiving one.
In any event, we like the park, just as it is. We especially enjoy sunny
weekends when the park is congested with families picnicking and playing
whiffle ball and there are lots of kids who want to pet the dogs, including
ours. Occasionally, the park is put to more organized uses, such as a
festival or as the base point of a walk-a-thon, which can be a bit
intrusive. But things are generally kept in balance.
A community garden would, in effect, reduce the amount of free space in the
park and would be intrusive to the adjacent neighbors.
The only "improvements" we need would be better maintenance of the grass and
the lights.
Does anyone have any thoughts about this?
