Karen,

There is a salvage yard in Pawtucket that I have been to several times and found a great screen door at. They have an eclectic inventory as you might imagine, and you will want to bring a pair of gloves and clothes you don't mind getting dirty, but you can find some good stuff and all prices are negotiable. You'll want to Google it first, since it's a bit hard to find (off Mineral Spring), but the name and address are below.

Natl Wrecking Co Inc
130 Grotto Ave, Pawtucket, RI
(401) 723-1545‎

You might even be able to call and ask about columns. Good Luck!

Subject: [Summit] porch columns

Hello All,

We're looking for a pair of slender wood columns for our front
"porch"--not a porch really, just a small roof over our front door. Our
house must have had them at some point but they were replaced with
cr*p. Wondering if any of you have such a thing in your basement that
you'd be willing to sell, or if someone has a source to suggest--used,
preferably, but we'd consider new.

The columns we need would be wood, 92 inches tall or less, six inches
in diameter or less, and fixable if not in good condition. We visited
New England Demolition in New Bedford but they have nothing that's
close to the right size.

Thanks for any info/insight you can provide!

Karen
