The crew at RI Eye Institute on East Manning st - Wayland Square is very good. Depends on what your specific issue is as to who I'd recommend specifically but they are all very good and have an optometrist there in the building. 

I also read in East Side Monthly that there is a new eyeglass shop going in in Wayland Sq where East Side Eyeware used to be. He has an optometrist on site and I'm always into supporting a new local business.
