Dear Peter,

Just a quick report on North Main from The Miriam perspective.  We are still working with a local person on the sale of "Tar Beach" or the Ninth Street Lot.  The individual is working out financing details and has plans to build a multi-purpose, sustainable building there.

With regard to Sears, I recently met with Steve Lewinstein regarding what is occuring on his end of development.  We are exploring ways to work together on that site.  We expect to sit down and meet again early in 2011.

I have heard that the transportation project along N. Main will be moving forward in the spring of 2011.  This is a sort of "express" bus route between PVD and Pawtucket.

Does any one have any updates on what's going with North Main Street? Specifically, the Sears building, tar beach, the athletes building at 10th-North Main and all the other abandoned properties? Any progress, rumors, etc.? Also, anything on the light rail/trolley service; will it reach our neighborhood? Thanks.

I have heard nothing on the light rail coming our way the initial
focus as far as I know is downtown. RIPTA is looking at express bus
service from downtown to downtown pawtucket this would run down north
main with very limited stops and light priority. --C
