Dear Neighbors,

A few of you have expressed interest in volunteering for our "Winter Warmth Gingerbread" assembly volunteer time, but asked if there could be times to extend to after work hours. I have coordinated internally for new times and spaces for next week's gingerbread assembly, which is outlined below:

When: Monday, December 12th 3p – 7p
Where: Ed Shottland Conference Room, 1st Floor, first room on the right. – (Fain Building is on Fifth Street, across from the Emergency Department

When: Tuesday, December 13th 3p-7p
Where: HURVITZ Conference Room #2 (Main Hospital Building, use the revolving door, and go right. Hurvitz Conference Room is next to the gift shop)

When: Thursday, December 15th 3p – 7p
Where: 2nd Floor Lecture Hall, Fain Building (Fain Building is on FIfth Street, across from the Emergency Department, take elevator to 2nd floor and walk straight across the floor to the Lecture Hall space).

Thank you so much for your responses. This drive helps keep children warm by providing winter wear (boots, cloats, sweaters, hats, etc.) in the Mount Hope Neighborhood. Did you know that the 2000 census reported that a third of the Mount Hope's children live below the poverty line? This information is further supported by the 2009 data from a city-data.com/neighborhood/Mount-Hope-Providence-RI, which stated that fully 30.2% of Mount Hope population lives below the poverty level. Mount Hope is one of the poorest neighborhoods in the City of Providence. Your assistance with our project will directly help children and families of The Mount Hope Neighborhood, who are essentially our neighbors too!

Sincerely,
Monica Anderson
