Folks,
I wanted to share the following update from Preserve Hope Street. They're building a small fund to defray legal expenses, and they'd appreciate anyone's support. Please take a look!

Dear Friends of Preserve Hope Street,
Happy July and a quick update. As you may know Schartner Farms and their developer (Chuck Anderson) together have filed an appeal of the Providence Zoning Board ruling in RI Superior Court. The City of Providence will be responding and a group of immediate neighbors have decided to join the suit to strengthen the city's case and block a drive thru from this site. Steve Litwin will continue to offer us legal services, but at this stage can no longer do so at no cost.
Introducing our $50 from 50 Campaign
This July, we are building a small fund to defray legal expenses as we move forward with the city in an appeal process. We're looking for 50 people to contribute at least $50 to help keep Hope Street walkable and livable. Visit http://www.preservehopestreet.org to make a quick and secure contribution with a credit card. Donations are not tax deductible, but they are greatly appreciated.
Steve is giving us a discounted rate, but as this may go on for years, we'd like to compensate him for his time even if in a nominal way. We've love your help by (1) making a contribution to the fund in whatever amount feels good to you, and (2) spreading the word by sharing the description above with others who you think might support this effort.
If you would like to contribute by check please send us an e-mail and we'll share the details.
Thank you so much for your ongoing attention and support. We will see this through.
Sincerely,
Kath Connolly
On behalf of Hope Street Concerned Abutters
