Skunks are nomadic and will move on after a few weeks. There is no need to worry
about them. They do a great job at getting grubs (but do leave little holes in
the grass.)

We often find holes dug in our lawn, presumably by skunks digging up grubs.
However, I?m less bothered by the holes or the skunks. You can respect and
admire a skunk (at a safe distance), but it takes a lot of empathy to see
the fun side of a grub. I keep hoping the skunks will finish them off for
good, but I guess they are sustainable harvesters, always leaving enough
grass for me not to yank the whole thing out and enough grubs to spawn the
next generation of breakfast. Fun fact: those grubs grow up to be beetles.
Has anyone tried the organic Heterorhabditis bacteriophora nematodes
discussed in this article from Illinois?

Neighbors & Detective Schiavulli,
A truck was parked w/ left wheels to the curb as I pulled in front of
our house to park today, Monday July 11, at 1:15 PM. When I pulled
up alongside, wanting to park in front of the house, the driver, a
white male in his mid 50's, quickly sped away before I could get the
plate #.
It was a dark gray pickup, w/ "Fire Extinguisher Services"
professionally written, on the side. The truck had MA plates. I'll
google this later, when my connection is working better and report
back if I find anything of note.

Our neighbor on 10th St. was robbed today - during the day. They kicked in his
front door and stole his laptop and went through his drawers. Not sure what else
was taken yet. It has been reported to the police. Most of our neighbors nearby
are home, including my husband who was home all morning working on our front
porch which has a direct view of this neighbor's front door (we think it
happened when he took the dog out or was inside for lunch) - and two houses down
they are doing construction and there is lots of activity.
Whoever this is has some nerve - they did it in broad daylight in the middle of
the day, and kicked in the front door (there is visible damage) where anyone
could have seen from the street.

Sorry to hear about your neighbors misfortune...
I think the theives are using the construction as a distraction/cover, or
maybe it is even someone on their crew??
I still think a temporary surveilance camera or two would be very
appropriate since they seem to be concentrating on 10th Street. Doesn't
anyone know someone who could help out with this??

These are the two guys that have been seen all over the Summit neighborhood
since early June. They need to be reported immediately to the police for
suspicious behavior. The bags give them away.
I'm starting to suspect the rash of break-ins might be related to them. There
have been numerous sightings of these two posted on the listserv. Not sure if
the police are aware of these guys, but they need to be notified ASAP the next
time they're seen.

As requested-- our results-- for anyone else looking for an eye doctor/eye
exam-- we got:
Dr. Newman at RI Eye (E. Manning St, Prov) x 8 recommendations
also RI Eye in general & at the same clinic Dr Lang
Dr. Paul and Dr. Chou on East Avenue x 2 times each
Dr. Carro, Advances Eye Care on North Maine x 2

PS A note for when calling for an appoinment- eye exams and similar

What Paul saw today fits within the time frame of when our neighbor was broken
into on 10th. I was outside on the porch until about 12:45 and then left for
about an hour. It looks like this is the company's website:
