[Summit] Anyone had mail stolen lately??

One factor that may be operating right now - summer.
Some experienced postal workers are on vacation.

And, by the way, we have experienced an important
mailing going astray.  I just don't care to attack the
entire postal service for mistakes by a few people.

Michael's suggestion of a P.O. Box is actually a pretty
good one, at least for important mail.  We are using one.
Part of our problem is the world's worst home mailbox
- small and outside where the mail can get soaked easily.

Blessings,

Liberty G

Yes most of it does go right, and I know everyone makes mistakes, myself included, but I am complaining because a bunch of stuff went missing in ONE week
AND I came home from vacation to find store flyers were NOT put through door, but instead left all around porch advertising no one seemed to be around to care.

Even if we were home, theives expect people to go away around holidays so that is NOT the time to be lazy in ways that leave clues. mail carriers are supposed to be professionals.

Annoying - yes - but the vast majority of mail is delivered
correctly and on time.

How about, "Let he (she) who is without sin throw the first stone"?

We're all flawed human beings, people.

Our wonderful mail service...  Just got the following email message from the lady who sent us the missing contract & check....

Okay so this is weird. I came home today to find
 that the check that I
had sent you had been returned to me as undeliverable and looking like
it had been handled by the Samsonite gorilla. The address was correct,
so I put it in a new envelope and resent it. Please let me know when you
 get it. Thanks.

Mail does go missing from time to time.  A year ago in November our

telephone bill failed to come.  We found out the following month when

we got a whopping big bill with the "Past Due!" charges on it.

Sometimes we get letters with the envelope flaps half-open -- I marvel

that they've come with their contents inside!

In summary, sometimes it seems to be the Post Office's fault,

sometimes the sender's fault (for not properly sealing the envelopes).

Elianna, you can fill out a tracer form at the Post Office.
