Dear Neighbors,

The Sixth Ward City Councilman, Sam Zurier, sends out a monthly email to
apprise his constituents of matters that affect them. Sam's letter this
week contains something that may be of interest to Summit residents:

    * The City Forester (Douglas Still) has received a grant to help
preserve sidewalk trees. If a City tree’s root system has displaced a
sidewalk square, the fund will pay to replace the square with one that
exposes more of the roots, improving the tree’s health and making the
sidewalk safer at the same time. If your sidewalk tree (and sidewalk)
could benefit from this program, please email the Forester at this address:*
* Dstill at providenceri.com. There are limited funds available on a “first
come, first served” basis. You can facilitate the City’s consideration by
attaching a photograph of the affected tree.*

Tom (forwarded from Mr. Tom Schmeling)
