Subject: URGENT: Thayer Street Zone Change
To: Barbara Harris <bhlaw at cox.net>
**
Friends,
The city is pushing to change the medium- density residential zoning of the
entire 4 block area off Thayer street to high density residential, i.e. no
setbacks, little parking, 6 story buildings, 300sq ft. units (5 times more
occupants than currently allowed per block). It’s happening this summer
while folks are on vacation.
If you oppose the change that the city is pushing (and the construction
around it) and want your voice heard you should immediately write the Mayor
(*mradcliffe at providenceri.com* <mradcliffe at providenceri.com>), Councilman
Seth Yurdin (*syurdin at yurdinlaw.com* <syurdin at yurdinlaw.com>) , Councilman
Sam Zurier (*samforcouncil at verizon.net* <samforcouncil at verizon.net>) the
Pro Jo, sign a petition
(*http://signon.org/sign/save-college-hill*<http://signon.org/sign/save-college-hill>
) , and attend the Ordinances Committee hearing this Thursday, July 19th at
5:00 p.m. at City Hall 3rd floor.
Please pass this email on to everyone you know in the city of Providence
who wants to preserve neighborhoods from demolition and political
maneuvering.
Best wishes,
Barbara Harris, Esq.
