I should also point out that, to me, there are already too many cars in the city.  This is because our zoning and public policy, for the last 100 years, have favored accommodations for the automobile.  These policies include minimum lot sizes, minimum off-street parking requirements, and separation of land uses.  So just to clarify, I do not pine for the sight of more cars cluttering our landscape.  However, there are other policies, land-use, transportation, or otherwise that I would like to see opened for discussion that could play a role in making our built environment more people-friendly and less auto centric. (Rant off...lol)
