Yet the DeVinci Center might be an alternative....as it offers an array of
activities----as well as a hot meal daily. check out

nearby Charles St..

If your father-in-law needs any kind of medical/nursing supervision, adult
day care can be a great choice. However you'll very likely find that most
clients in adult day have mild to moderate Alzheimer's. So if his situation
is less severe -- if he just needs something to do -- a senior center
could be more appropriate. Consider Hamilton House on Angell St. Seems from
your description that he could be borderline so looking at both kinds of
programs and talking to the social work staffs may be helpful.

Good luck.

Check out Generations. If your father-in-law does not have Medicaid, there
will be a daily fee (I think $55 a day? With a 3 day a week minimum? But
don't quote me on that). They have tons of activities they offer each day
and have nurses on staff. Good luck!

Does anyone in the 'hood have any experience of local adult daycares. My
in-laws are suddenly living with us -- yes, it's a strain. She is
bedridden, but he is rattling around with nothing to do and no one to talk to.
He's no longer terribly sharp, but sharp enough to feel useless and bereft of
his old life. I'm looking for recommendations from people so I'm not just
randomly visiting all the licensed centers listed on the Department of
Elderly Affairs site. Thanks for your help.
