Hi, Julie and neighbors,
Hank Wietsma has been our vet for 25 years. I believe he's one of the best
vets in New England. This sounds like hyperbole, but I mean it. Best of
all, he *loves* cats. And every other animal. He's been vet to our cats
and our iguana. And to our parrot, who is 30 years old now, still going
strong, thanks to Hank. (Hank is board-certified in avian medicine, but he
treats every animal.)
Hank used to have his own clinic in Wickford. At that time his rates were
very reasonable -- probably among the lowest in R.I. Several years ago he
sold his clinic, and he now works part-time for the Westerly Animal
Hospital (92 Franklin St. [aka Rt. 1], 401-596-2865.
Like me, many of his former clients have followed Hank south.
I cannot say how Westerly Animal Hospital's rates compare with those of
other clinics.
Some clinics give you a discount if you bring in more than one cat at
once. It's worth asking.
If you'd like to see Hank in action, he's in the documentary that aired on
"Nature" (PBS) last November, "Parrot Confidential". He's the vet shown
examining Lou, the cockatoo rescued from an abandoned house.

Note:? This is great, and the weather
won't be too chilly - in the mid 50s.
However, better add an umbrella to
your list of what to bring - the forecast
is showers all day!
Blessings,

follow leaders out into neighborhood, caroling on the way. Finish about 6:30 to
