Ok, everyone. I guess it's my turn since, at the beginning of SNA I was
vice president and then president and, yes, female. The founder and I
think first president is a black man. If it's not good enough to welcome
you to come, I don't know what a volunteer organization can do. If you
are black/white/brown/yellow/green/whatever and male/female/whatever and
want to be on the board, whoever you are, please come meet us. There are
3 criteria for board members and one is to be actively involved. As for
reaching out, our newsletter is directly distributed to many households
in Mt. Hope, depending upon how many volunteers we have. So you know all
about us and what we are doing. If you are not receiving newsletters,
please volunteer for a route.

As for separation, the city has decided that we are 2 neighborhoods. Mt.
Hope extends fairly far to the south and SNA to the north, making one
giant neighborhood not feasible. Last I knew, Mt. Hope organization had
a paid staff and plenty of work to do on their priorities, though there
is cooperation on mutual interests.

That's it for me. Sorry to keep this issue going. Liz
