[Summit] LOST DOG

I don't know the owners, but I really, really hope someone on this list does and notifies them. If the dog had tags, the owners could have called have been called directly and the dog going to animal control could have been avoided. I hope the dog gets back home safely - it's a beautiful dog. Thanks for getting him/her somewhere safe and being a good neighbor.

Animal Control said to call this number 272-3121 ask for Animal Control.  They will hold him for 5 - 24hour periods.  Time they are open is 7am-3pm, so please tell the owners or someone who knows them.  He's a skittish dog and was nervous about going in the truck, don't want him to stay overnight.

This morning I saw a reddish brown Golden Retriever on Lorimer off leash. A neighbor came out and said she knew whose dog it was and called the dog by its name but when she tried to approach the dog, it ran. The dog followed me and my dog for awhile and then made a left towards Hope. As I approached Hope and 8th St several minutes later I saw the dog again. The dog bolted across Hope, up 8th, towards Miriam. The dog is obviously very frightened and is at risk of being hit by a car. This dog has no tags. I hope this dog makes it home safely and if this is your dog PLEASE PUT TAGS ON HIM/HER!!!!!
