[Summit] Break in report

I am sorry to hear all these neighbors are having their space invaded and
things taken

For those interested,
you can fix all ACs so they can't be pushed in.
4 screws will do it- 2 on top- AC usually has holes pre drilled for that
and on the bottom- drive down into window sill, two large screws sticking
straight up, against base of AC
not fancy but it works.

In the 18 years we have lived here, someone has attempted to push in an AC
on 3 occasions
(last time was last Sept)
but each time all they did was bend storm window frame with some kind of
prying tool.
That's 3 break ins saved.

Also, you can pin the two windows to each other at AC height.
Get one or 2 large nails, about 4 inches long
get drill bit slightly larger.
About 1 inch from window frame edge, on one or both sides, drill hole
completely through the inner/lower half of window about 1/2 to 3/4 in into
(but NOT through) the upper/outer half of window.
Insert nail as a pin, to lock windows in place.
Just slide out nails when you need to open window to remove ac.
Keep handy for when you put AC back next summer.

Hope someone gets these creeps, but in the meanwhile we can do things to be
safer.
