Hi neighbors,
For folks who are concerned about the LA fitness & parking lot proposal, I encourage you to come to the Pawtucket commission hearing tonight at 7 PM at 175 Main St. In Pawtucket. The last meeting ran very long, so ideally at least two neighborhood representatives can attend, one at 7 pm and another take a later shift, like at 9pm so your not there all night. Of course the more people the better.

There was very little opposition at the last Pawtucket meeting and if more neighbors don't come out to oppose, my sense is that the Pawtucket Comission is likely to approve the LA Fitness proposal without any changes to the plan.

Just wanted to let people know.
Thanks,
 Lisa

The consensus was that the residents of Summit have the opportunity and the responsibility to insist that changes to the quality of life in their neighborhood be made only in a manner consistent with their wishes. As one member pointed out during the discussion, “Communities such as Barrington and East Greenwich don’t get ugly buildings built in their neighborhoods because they insist on it.”
