(1) The City Plan Commission is not meeting this week, but on Tuesday 28 April at 4:45 p.m. in the Joseph Doorley (formerly Blue Cross) building, 444 Westminster Street at Empire.

The main East Side topic of interest is continued consideration of a proposed long-stay hotel (or short-stay apartment) near the Harry Kizirian or Turnkey Main Post Office on Corliss Street (between North Main Street and the highway).

Among other topics are a change to the boundaries of the Port Redevelopment Plan, Providence College's Institutional Master Plan and a major redevelopment of a former school property in "Upper South Providence".

Full agenda here:

(2) There will be two meetings about infrastructure this coming Wednesday evening (April 22):

(a) College Hill Neighborhood Association is meeting at 6:30 in the new Wheeler School auditorium off Hope and Angell to hear the city's new head of Public Works and others discuss "Paving, Parking and Potholes".

(b) My own Neighborhood Discussion Group at Books on the Square (471 Angell at Elmgrove) will hear speakers from Public Works, Providence Water and National Grid discuss some major repairs and replacements of pipes and roads in and around Wayland Square over the next two or three years. If time permits, we may allow other questions on listeners' minds.
