[Summit] High Energy Use

I am always looking for ways to insulate & save energy
and have applied many to our household-
including the most basic "turn it off" when not in use.
And I try to keep an open mind about these reports
but I plan to cancel them.
I do not need a monthly reminder that having health challenges rates me at
the bottom of every heap.
I NEED my extra freezers for my special diet.
We use energy efficient bulbs, but w poor eyesight the number of them still
adds up.
I NEED air conditioning- more that short burst of heat makes me physically
ill.
We have an electric stove (on purpose- allergic to gas) and cooking all the
time- make much of food from scratch.
I have a mini green house in the basement during the winter; gardening
helps keep me sane.
Etc.
The only waste of money I really want to get rid of- I have no choice. All
fridges and freezers are now "self defrosting" Running a heater to then
have to cool after, in your fridge or freezer, is dumb, in my opinion, plus
the dry air dries up all your food.
A now that rates are going up, we will pay some MORE.
To the people that leave us blacked out for hours, several times a year.
(For some reason our block is always THE last block turned back on.)
Well life is expensive and I am happy we have the stuff I have to work to
pay for.
They do make my life better.
Just don't appreciate the electric company rubbing it in.
I figured those mailings setting us up- an excuse to make US feel guilty
for coming higher bills.
