Thanks for thinking this over and posing relevant questions.
1. I see no justification for anonymity on a neighborhood listserv. There
are situations in which anonymity can definitely serve a purpose and be
justifiable, but in my opinion this isn't one of them. We are neighbors,
speaking to neighbors.
2. Yes
3. There's no need for an anonymous survey. We should be able to tolerate
diverse opinions with names attached.
