Rise engineering will assess your home and provide recommendations to improve efficiencies and infirm you of rebate programs to take advantage of. A couple of months ago I mentioned that just by replacing 1995 equipment at my shop with newer energy efficient equipment I decreased my bills by 40%... The difference paid for 2 of the machines within a few years.
Rise had made other suggestions that did not make sense since I knew I would not be in that location for long.
The assessment is free.

Subject:[Summit] National Grid energy use comparisons
National Grid is not scamming us trying to sell something. They are simply trying to make people aware that they may be able to use less energy. Lots of folks think they are conserving, but without a comparison how would they know?
NGRID uses public records (e.g. square footage of a house, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, age etc.) to build profiles and then use that to help costumers compare. If you call them (I did) you can provide additional and more accurate information, although not with every nuance of your usage, to help make your profile, and thus your comparison, more accurate. If we all did so, the information would be more beneficial to all of us.
Additionally they will provide you with a free energy audit. This will typically include some free LED and CFL bulbs, recommendations of steps to take to save energy, and some huge savings opportunities on subsidized energy saving improvements to your home.
