For any neighbors who live in the vicinity of India restaurant, and any who have tried to squeeze by their planters on the public sidewalk, etc:

India now wants a zoning variance to increase their existing structure
from 3116 sq. ft. to … (wait for it)
                           5976 sq.ft. !!

The lot size is 5054 sq. ft.

They are also requesting to be excused from a 10 foot rear yard setback. They want to make it two feet from the adjacent residence.
They are also requesting to be excused from having to get a Special Use Permit, which is required for a restaurant over 3500 gross sq. ft.
They are also requesting to be excused from having to provide an additional 6 parking spaces. They propose adding none.

If you, too, are tired of the spreading land grab that India has been doing for years, come to the Zoning Board hearing about this.
First Floor Conference Room at the Mayor Joseph A. Doorley Municipal Building located at 444 Westminster Street, Providence.
This is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 5:30 PM

The camel's nose, front feet, and stomach are already in the tent.
