Art,
My apologies if I misunderstood you. I’m not sure if the problem is due to the quality of the installation or failure to maintain it properly but, either way, we should be able to expect more from the city.
I’ll report back to the list when I hear from Wendy Nilsson.

Tom, I think we're saying the same thing in different ways. My thought was that for that amount of money we could have expected something that would keep working a lot more dependably.

I disagree. The investment was justified. The non-working fountain was a sad thing, and the working fountain is beautiful.
The city keeping up maintenance on its parks is a different issue. I’d prefer to focus on that issue.

This is not shaping up to be the best $175,000 investment the city ever made.

Jim and all,
Back in early June, I contacted Parks Director Wendy Nillson about the fact that the fountain was not running. She replied promptly and told me that repairs were underway. Within a few days, the fountain was back on.
I don’t know why it’s off again. I’ll contact her again and try to find out.

Does anyone know why the Lippet Park fountain is off and when it might be turned back on? This seems prime time so if is unfortunate. I'm sure one of us will contact the city next week for an answer, but it is unfortunate for the throngs of visiters on market day.
