For most of yesterday's closings, I have to induce by elimination, but a glance at the Closings page at Channel 10’s web site reveals far fewer than yesterday.

Check for closings, delays and parking bans at http://turnto10.com/weather/closings

Most notably for us, the Fox Point Senior Center is closed today with no Meals and Wheels. There are 2-hour school delays for public and several Catholic schools in both Cranston and Pawtucket, but nothing is listed for public or independent schools in Providence.

Also, I assume that with the parking ban lifted, Books on the Square (471 Angell at Elmgrove) will be open again, and thus permit the Waterman Street Dog Park Committee to hold its scheduled meeting there from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Last night’s public meeting of the Fox Point association’s board has been postponed until future notice.

Happy Mardi Gras and Carnival. Also a belated Happy Chinese New Year. (Gung hay fat choy; laissez les bon temps rouler. !)

Property Owners Reminded to Clear Walkways; Trash Collection on Holiday Schedule Rest of Week

A citywide parking ban will remain in effect until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 to allow city crews to clear snow from streets through the night.

Residents with overnight parking passes are advised that they cannot park on the street during the duration of the citywide parking ban. All vehicles parked on the street in violation of the citywide parking ban will be ticketed and towed to ensure that roadways can be cleared.

Property owners are reminded to clear snow and ice from walkways, ramps, catch basins and fire hydrants.

Waste and recycling collection will be on a holiday schedule, taking place the following day throughout the week with Friday collection taking place on Saturday.
