Just for reference, and to insert some additions and a correction, here are some local and civic events and meetings for the rest of the month.

Monday 9 January (tonight), 6:45 p.m. - FOX POINT Neighborhood Association’s Board of Directors (if following regular schedule and not in executive session), meeting & studio space under the library of Vartan Gregorian School, Wickenden Street between Governor & Ives

Monday 9 January (tonight), 7 p.m. - COLLEGE HILL Neighborhood Association, Gov. Henry Lippitt House, 199 Hope Street at Angell (opposite Wheeler School). Main topic of discussion with neighbors, officials and organization leaders: a subxoxone drug recovery center proposed for 150 Thayer St. at College

Tuesday 10 January, 7 - 8 p.m. - Waterman Street DOG PARK committee, general open meeting (see below), near children’s counter in the rear of Books on the Square, 471 Angelll Street below Elmgrove, next to CVS.

Monday 16 January, 7 p.m. (Martin Luther King Day observed) - SUMMIT Neighborhood Association’s Board of Directors (if following regular schedule), main floor café of Summit Commons (formerly Hillside Nursing Home), 99 Hillside Avenue at the top of the hill, midway between Gregg’s on North Main Street and Three Sisters at the junction of Hope Street, East Street and Blackstone Blvd.

Tuesday 17 January, 4:45 p.m. - City PLAN COMMISSION (no agenda yet posted), main floor auditorium/cafeteria of the Joseph Doorley (formerly Blue Cross) building, 444 Westminster Street above Empire, facing AS 220 and the Celtic Lounge/Finnegan’s Wake.

Tuesday 17 January, 6 - 7:30 p.m. - WAYLAND SQUARE Neighborhood Association, general open meeting, private room of Red Stripe restaurant, 465 Angell Street facing Elmgrove and Starbucks (three doors above Books on the Square)

Thursday 19 January, 5 - 9 p.m. - unofficial GALLERY NIGHT Providence, various exhibition spaces including free admission to the RISD Museum of Art at Benefit & Waterman Streets.

Tuesday 24 January, 7 - 8:30 p.m. - WEST BROADWAY Neighborhood Association’s Crime Watch and Neighborhood Action Committee, WBNA headquarters at 1560 Westminster Street, crossing Bainbridge Ave & Sycamore Street, midway between the Cranston Street Armory and the Ada Messer School (above the 6/10 Connector)
