Art,

I see now that your survey did not ask directly how they voted, It did ask whether they signed the recall petition, which I assume they would not have done if they didn’t support the recall. I suppose it’s possible, but it’s hard to see how someone could sign the recall petition and then not vote to recall.

But I cannot agree that it is not our (the voters’)  business how candidates for office voted in past elections. In fact, I can’t imagine anything more important!  I would have grave, possibly insurmountable, doubts about any candidate who invoked “ballot secrecy” to refuse to answer that question. (Recall that the question of whether Speaker Ryan voted for Donald Trump was a fairly major issue last fall, and he answered that question, as he should have).
