[Summit] to an anonymous passer-by

I was just out front, weeding and mulching the foundation plantings of our house on 4th St, when I found a little note right in front of a winter-blooming hellebore, tucked into the rocks that I put along the hydrangea bed. It said “beautiful”. It did not look like it got there by accident.

Thank you. I garden for myself, of course, the pleasure of the activity and the endless surprises. But I do hope my efforts make the neighborhood a little more beautiful, enjoyable to live in and walk around. I’m glad when people enjoy my yard. Thanks for letting me know!
