|     You're Invited to PVDFest We are less than a month away from PVDFest, Providence’s signature art festival happening June 1-4, 2017! Last year over 75,000 attended the festivities and this year we want to ensure that even more people come out to the heart of our city for an experience of a lifetime. I’m excited to see what will result from our world-renowned art, culture and culinary communities joining forces with artists from across the country and globe!   I’m thrilled that this year, BANDALOOP will be joining our incredible artist lineup. Their off the wall programming will feature artists using the façade of one of our downtown buildings as a dance floor! Performers will be flying, floating, and defying gravity across the capital city’s skyline for what is sure to be a breathtaking show. Please make sure to join us for #PVDPublicCanvas, the lighted spectacular scheduled for the evenings of Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3.   With more attendees expected than ever we are searching for volunteers who want to be part of the fun and get a true behind the scenes experience. I encourage anyone who is interested in assisting to register today by clicking here.   For the latest artist line up, list of vendors, and festival schedule please visit PVDFest.com.       Yard Waste Collection  I would like to share that curbside yard debris collection has commenced in Providence. Residents should place yard waste at the curbside on the same day as their normal garbage and recycling pickup day. The waste should be disposed of in paper bags or in a container clearly labeled "Yard Debris."  Free labels can be obtained at the Department of Public Works located at 700 Allens Avenue or at the Mayor’s Center for City Services located on the first floor of City Hall. You can also dial 3-1-1 for more information.       OnePVD Day! Please join us at the State House on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 2:30PM to celebrate the Creative Capital’s cuisine, artistry, and local businesses while we support the future of Providence. This is a great opportunity to join folks from across our city to highlight what makes the capital city an outstanding place to live in and visit.   |
