 Vartan Gregorian elementary school is in Fox Point, on the top of Wickenden Street at Governor (between Hope and Ives Streets).
The Providence Hmong Church on Promenade Street (between Westminster and Cranston Streets) faces the Dexter Training Grounds that surround the Cranston Street Armory.
The Skyline is the newest restaurant/club to occupy that small squarish building next to and above the steps around Waterplace Park.

Good morning friends & neighbors,

I wanted to send a friendly reminder about three community events that Mayor Elorza’s Office is holding between now and the beginning of February, all of which are free and open to the public.

Tonight, at 6PM in the 1st floor conference room at 444 Westminster Street, join Mayor Elorza to learn about opportunities and supports available to small businesses, including theProvidence Business Loan Fund. Space for this event is limited, so if you are interested, email Angel Subervi, Senior Advisor on Neighborhood Projects, atasubervi at providenceri.gov to RSVP.

Tuesday, January 30 at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria at Vartan Gregorian Elementary, join Mayor Elorza and a number of City staff for aCitywide Conversation. Learn more about the great things happening around Ward 1 and across the City, and have an opportunity to have an open discussion about your questions and concerns.

Wednesday, January 31 at 5:30 PM in City Council Chambers, join Mayor Elorza and the Providence Human Relations Commission for the15th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Hall of Fame Awards. Be a part of an annual event recognizing outstanding members of our community for their efforts to continue the work and further the ideals of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Refreshments will be provided following the event.

| What's next on the DNA's agenda? Our new Crime Watch!
We've listened to our residents and are addressing your concerns.
We want to get those lights fixed, the graffiti removed
and "high risk" areas improved....
But We Can't Do It Alone.
Our first phase will focus on our waterfront, from the basin of Waterplace Park to the Hurricane Barrier. So, if you live and/or work along our waterways....

| At our initial meeting, we will:   
   - Meet our newly appointed District 1 Lieutenant in charge, Roger Aspinall and the city's Neighborhood Liason Ani Haroian, and discuss current crime trends in our neighborhoods and the important role that crime watch groups play in our city.
   - Hear from the Downtown Improvement District Executive Director Frank LaTorre.
   - Get outside and WALK from Skyline to Memorial Park for first-hand visuals of problem areas.
   - Catalog the light fixtures that need to be fixed along Memorial Drive, Francis and Exchange Streets and discuss the process of getting them turned back on!
   - Address the lighting in the Union Station tunnel
   - Locate areas covered in graffiti and report them for cleaning.

We have lots to celebrate about the past year. From major infrastructure projects to helping neighbors in need, 2017 is a year we proudly got stuff done.

Join us as we review these accomplishments, but also as we look to what's ahead in 2018. In this our 35th year, WBNA will be calling all neighbors to shape WBNA's future! Details to come.
