[Summit] Car tax

Thanks Thomas.  That was my next step along with my email directly to the city.  I do remember talking with then when I got the car.  They said I should owe for 1/2 year as I bought the car in December.  I'll pull out my papers from the dealer or call the sales guy.

I bought a new car (my first ever) in Spring, 2017.  I just got my first car tax bill last week. My recollection is that the dealer paid the tax for the first year, though I would have to check the records at home to be sure. It may be required by law that dealers do so.  I would cal the dealer and ask them.  I’m not sure I would trust the city’s online records.

I checked that link, and it says I don't owe anything but I went from a 2000 to a 2018 in December so....    I have sent an email to the city collector.  I thought the dealer had taken care of it maybe not?

We got our second one last Thursday or Friday. In fact, based on the new law, you should have received a bill last year as well, as cars with a value under $5000 would still be taxed.
