 Sorry about my confusing format, Cheryl; I was just copying differently-arranged announcements, which I was trying to distinguish by those two asterisks. The Early Music concert at RIC is at 7 p.m. Saturday, while the jazz concert at Brown begins at 8 p.m.
I’ve been to many of the Brown jazz concerts, and unless specified, I was always able to just walk in and take a seat provided that one was available (some of the jazz concerts, but not this one, like to have advance reservations).
As for the RIC Early Music Ensemble, I have no independent clarification, although I suspect that they’d follow a similar policy. (A quick Bing search through the Internet proved singularly useless.) I was just reproducing verbatim the posting made to the Summit e-mail list yesterday morning (Thurs 4 April) by Molly Jordan, who’s getting another copy of this message.
Hope you enjoy the concert (you could go to the Rochambeau book sale, which ends at 5 p.m., eat and then walk or drive a couple of blocks south to the Church of the Redeemer (on the opposite side of Hope Street).

De Ciccio Family Auditorium, Salomon Center for Teaching, 79 Waterman Street (formerly 101 Salomon Hall on the Brown campus, through the Faunce/Roberts gate on Waterman facing Brown St.)

Please join us Opening Night for a screening of WALKING ON WATER, an intimate portrait of renowned installation artist Christo and the intense planning and construction of his 2016 art piece, The Floating Piers, a dahlia-yellow walkway atop Italy’s Lake Iseo tred by over 1.2 million people.

JIMI HENDRIX: ELECTRIC CHURCH details the legendary guitarist's integral role in drawing nearly 500,000 to a dusty scorching hot pecan orchard in Byron, Georgia some 100 miles south of Atlanta. Together with Experience drummer Mitch Mitchell and drummer Billy Cox, Jimi skillfully blended favorites such as “Purple Haze,” “All Along The Watchtower,” and “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” with confident renditions of new songs such as “Freedom” and “Straight Ahead” that had not yet been released on album.
