RIPTA Service To Run Holiday Schedule In Observance Of Victory Day Monday, August 12, 2019

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will run a Sunday/Holiday service schedule on Monday, August 12, 2019 in observance of Victory Day, an official state holiday. The Sunday/Holiday schedule will apply to all regular fixed-route buses and trolleys.
RIDE AND FLEX SERVICES
RIPTA Flex Services, except for Route 210 (Kingston Flex Service) which will run on the holiday schedule, will not be available on August 12th. The statewide RIde Program will operate only ADA trips on August 12th. The Flex Service reservation line (1-877-906-FLEX) and the RIde reservation line (461-9760) will not be staffed on Monday. Regular service for both RIde and Flex will resume on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.
KENNEDY PLAZA
RIPTA offices, including the Photo Identification and Ticket Sales Offices in the Kennedy Plaza Intermodal Transportation Center, will be closed on Monday, August 12, 2019, the official state holiday.

¶ 3. Holiday Trash Schedule
There is no trash pickup scheduled for the following holidays:

If a holiday falls on your trash pick up day, your trash will be picked up the very next day. All pickups for the rest of the week will also be one day later. (Friday’s pickup will be on Saturday).
If the holiday falls on a Saturday, trash pick up is not changed. For missed pickups or to schedule a stove, refrigerator or large item pick up, call 1-800-972-4545. To keep rats away, store your trash in a sealed container.

Click here for the City Ordinance (Section 12-63) which outlines the earliest trash cans may be put out for collection (4pm the day prior) and the latest they may remain out after collection (11:59pm on the collection day). There are fines for leaving trash cans out past that time, specified as follows:
"Penalties...shall not be assessed at more than one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) cumulatively per calendar year for each individual dwelling. The penalty shall not exceed twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for the first violation, fifty dollars ($50.00) for the second violation, and one hundred dollars ($100.00) for all subsequent violations occurring within a calendar year."
