Holiday Trash Schedule

THERE IS NO TRASH PICKUP SCHEDULED FOR THE FOLLOWING HOLIDAYS:

If a holiday falls on your trash pick up day, your trash will be picked up the very next day. All pickups for the rest of the week will also be one day later. (Friday’s pickup will be on Saturday).

If the holiday falls on a Saturday, trash pick up is not changed. For missed pickups or to schedule a stove, refrigerator or large item pick up, call 1-800-972-4545. To keep rats away, store your trash in a sealed container.

Recycling is required in the City of Providence. (City Ordinance Sec. 12.61.2) Use of Recyclable Receptacles. Violations of the provisions are Punishable by law. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our Capital City clean and beautiful.

| Work Expected: Hartford Avenue and Plainfield Street Bridge deck waterproofing and paving, Huntington Viaduct Bridge barrier work on the ramp from Route 10 South to Route 6 West, and Westminster Street and Broadway north-side bridge work, sidewalks and curbing. New flyover bridge Route 10 North to Route 6 West tub girder installation, and drainage installation along the Route 10 median, Tuesday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Traffic Changes: Alternating lane closures on Route 10 South, from Tobey Street to Union Avenue, and on Route 6 West, From Hartford Avenue to Route 10, Tuesday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. |

| Work Expected: Installing drainage along I-95 South, Tuesday-Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Median area restoration on I-95 continues behind barrier, Tuesday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and various construction activities will also take place at the Toll Gate Road Bridge, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and the Centerville Road Bridge, Tuesday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Traffic Changes: Exit 10B off I-95 South will be closed Tuesday-Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Please follow signed detour using Exit 10A. The right lane on I-95 South, from Exit 11 to Exit 10A, will also be closed at this time. Narrowed lanes on Route 115 (Toll Gate Road), from Orchard Avenue to Leon Whipple Road, and right shoulder closures on Route 117 (Centerville Road), from Orchard Avenue to Commonwealth Avenue, will take place Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Tuesday-Friday during the same time period, respectively. Frequent vehicle access in/out of the work zones.  |

| Work Expected: Highway lighting, sidewalks and drainage installation on Route 138, Tuesday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and striping on I-95, Wednesday night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Traffic Changes: We’ll have alternating lane closures on I-95 at Exit 3 Wednesday night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. to install a new lane shift. I-95 southbound will be shifted to the right on the southbound bridge with narrowed lanes. This traffic pattern should remain until the end of 2020. |

| Work Expected: Form and pour approach slabs, set gas line in east sidewalk and form the east parapet wall, Tuesday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Traffic Changes: Route 114 (Hope Street) North, from Washington Street to just before the Silver Creek Bridge, remains closed but we should have two lanes of traffic over the bridge in both directions by September. Detour information available here. |
