Dear neighbor –

In anticipation a warm weekend all City waterparks will open early, except for Fargnoli Park, will reopen today, Friday, June 26. The Roger Williams Botanical Center and our Museum of Natural History, will also be open beginning next Wednesday, July 1 on a limited basis for residents to explore.

Waterparks will be open with Play Attendants on site from Monday-Saturday, 12:00PM-5:00PM while bathrooms and concession stands will remain closed. Waterparks are closed on Sundays. Please be sure to be mindful of other families and follow social distancing guidelines. To ensure that everyone can enjoy a safe and fun experience, group sized will be kept to a maximum of 15 people and each group will be able to play for up to 45 minutes before the space is cleaned and a new group will be admitted.

Every day, Rhode Island is making progress in the fight against COVID-19. But we can't allow ourselves to get complacent now. We need to stick with the methods that work: washing our hands thoroughly, keeping six feet of social distance, and most importantly, wearing our masks.
Most states that are seeing spikes in COVID-19 cases don't require mask wearing. On the other hand, 11 out of 15 states--including Rhode Island--with mask wearing mandates are are seeing cases decline.

| I know that wearing a mask was hard to get used to - it was certainly jarring for me. But over the last few weeks, we've become innovators. Instead of backing down, tens of thousands of people across the state have turned mask wearing into an opportunity for self-expression. | The most important thing to remember throughout this crisis is that we all need to be kind to one another. If you see someone who isn’t wearing a mask, you can offer to help them get one. We should also remember that folks with certain underlying conditions may not be able to wear a mask.
But if you can wear a mask, putting it on is a great way to help keep your community safe. My mask protects you; your mask protects me. I’m asking all Rhode Islanders to be good neighbors.
Thank you for staying strong as we continue to fight COVID-19 in Rhode Island. I'll back on TV at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow to give a live update.
