REMINDER: Providence Recreational Vehicle Illegal Use Hotline
Mayor Elorza and Providence Police condemned recent vandalism of a Providence Park recently by ATVs and remind the public that ATVs and dirt bikes are illegal and present a danger to the public. The Providence Police Dept. will continue to take these illegal vehicles off our streets and will work to ensure that those responsible for any damage are held accountable. Residents are encouraged to report the location or operation of an illegal recreational vehicle by contacting the Providence, RI Police Dept. at (401) 680-8288.

Blackstone Woods Park Trails Ribbon Cutting – 8/11
Join us on 8/11 to celebrate the revitalization of Blackstone Woods Park on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 5:00 PM. To make the park more accessible and safer for visitors, we revitalized the infrastructure and trails. New stormwater management features and soil stabilization will make certain that the park is available for generations to come.
Additionally, We’ve improved the appearance and functionality of the park by adding attractive fencing along the trails, to serve the dual purpose of ensuring that the park looks and feels safe and that the wildlife and native plants of this fragile ecosystem are protected. To unify the City’s urban trail network, we will install rail maps and interpretive signage at Blackstone Woods that coordinate those recently installed at the City’s sister park on the west end, Neutaconkanut Hill.
Hope to see you there!

City of Providence #TakeitOutside Parklets Initiative
Do you own a business in the City of Providence that is looking to #TakeItOutside?
In partnership with The Steel Yard Industrial Arts Non-profit, Mayor Jorge Elorza and the Department of Art, Culture + Tourism are offering a limited quantity of one-of-a-kind artist-designed parklets to help businesses make use of the outdoor space around them. Designed to fit two parking spaces, there are several variations for how the kit of parts can be used again and again. While supplies last, priority will be given to requests from restaurants, retailers, and nonprofit organizations located outside of Downtown and women/BIPOC owned businesses. Funding was made possible through the Rhode Island Commerce Take It Outside initiative.
For more information, please visit https://thinkpvd.com and fill out the Special Event application to request a parklet! If you have any other questions, please reach out to Lizzie Araujo at laraujo at providenceri.gov
