Yesterday, we joined our partners in law enforcement to shine a light on an alarming number of motorcycle fatalities - accounting for a third of the 39 traffic fatalities in Rhode Island so far this year. | Next week on Broad Street in Cumberland, daytime curbing and sidewalk installation is scheduled from Elizabeth Street to Dexter Street and utility work is planned from Titus Street to Elizabeth Street. Frequent vehicle access in and out of the work zones, with excessive noise, parking/walkway and driveway restrictions. |

| Henderson Bridge, East Providence/Providence |

| Ongoing daytime steel demolition for the bridge requires us to close East River Street, from Waterman Street to Angell Street, in Providence next week. Follow signed detour. We also plan to demolish one of the piers, excavate the west abutment, and continue backfilling for the new roadway connecting Waterfront Drive to Massasoit Avenue. |

| I-95 North Viaduct, Providence |

| Contingent upon Amtrak personnel availability, we plan to close Exit 22 off I-95 North and the on-ramp from Memorial Boulevard to I-95 South to remove steel girders over Amtrak overnight next week. Also, we will close the on-ramp from Atwells Avenue to I-95 North for I-95 North Viaduct deck repairs, and Providence Place, from Harris Avenue to Promenade Street, and Promenade Street, from Park Street to Holden Street, to repair the Park Street Bridge. Please follow signed detours during all closures. Additionally, overnight lane closures on both directions of I-95 for demolition of the old southbound viaduct bridge and utility work on Smith Street, and on Route 146 North for construction of the I-95 North Viaduct abutment, are planned. |

| The existing traffic patterns remain on I-95 and Route 138. Next week at this project, we anticipate installing signs, concrete sidewalk, and drainage components as well as crushed stone in the median. |

| After completing rebar and form work, we plan to pour the deck for the new Route 146 South bridge on Thursday from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. This will involve a left lane closure in both directions of Route 116 at the bridge.  |

| Pell Bridge Ramps Phase 2, Newport |

| Next week at this project we will continue new drainage installation, full depth excavation and gravel road base installation on Admiral Kalbfus Road near Third Street. We will also install the second layer of asphalt on JT Connell Highway south of the rotary. Once paving is complete, we will begin to install site lighting and electrical conduit that runs the entire length of JT Connell Highway from the rotary to the existing dog park. We will also start overnight installation of temporary barrier and striping along Route 138 East and West to allow bridge deck demolition to begin.     |

| A weekday right lane closure continues next week on Route 5 from Greenwich Avenue to I-95 as we install precast concrete curbing and sidewalk and do concrete work at the south abutment of the Pontiac Bridge. |

| Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions of Route 10 at this project next week as we pave Route 10 South, cast concrete parapets at the Tobey Street Bridge, and continue to install storm drainage within the Route 10 corridor. Harris Avenue North, from Delaney Street to Atwells Avenue over Amtrak, remains closed for steel installation, Tuesday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Please follow signed detour. |
