On Tuesday-Thursday nights, we’ll close lanes on both sides of I-95 from the Clifford Street overpass to Exit 22 to remove formwork that had been used during concrete repairs at the Broad Street Bridge. |

| Temporary Bike Path
We are scheduled to install railing and prepare to connect the sidewalk to the boardwalk at the Barrington Bridge and install railing and timber flooring for the boardwalk at the Warren Bridge. The northbound sidewalks remain closed at both bridges, with flaggers/police details at the designated crosswalks weekdays from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. to assist those wishing to cross.
Long-Term Plan
We are preparing the final scope of work for the RFP and working with National Grid to reduce the scope of their utility work. Once we have reached an agreement with National Grid, we will be ready to send out the RFP. |

RIPTA AWARDED $900K RAISE GRANT
RIPTA recently announced that it was the recipient of a $900,000 grant made available through the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) program, and secured by Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse, alongside Congressmen Jim Langevin and David Cicilline.
“These funds are essential to the execution of the Authority’s long-term vision and the success of our Transit Master Plan. This funding is also pivotal to ensuring that Rhode Island is able to meet the goals defined in the Transit Forward RI vision by 2040, “ said Scott Avedisian, RIPTA CEO. “As always, we thank our Congressional delegation for their steadfast commitment to working with RIPTA and understanding the value of safe, consistent, and timely mass transit for all riders across the state.”
The grant will help support the development of a high-capacity transit corridor from Central Falls to Warwick.

RIDE PARATRANSIT WINS HOSPITALITY HERO AWARD
Not all heroes wear capes. Some where RIPTA uniforms.
RIPTA is proud to be recognized as a “Hospitality Hero” by the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau (PWCVB). At last month’s PWCVB Annual Meeting, RIPTA’s RIde Paratransit Division received the Hospitality Hero award, which honors individuals and businesses that have spent the last 18 months helping their industry and their community.
RIde paratransit drivers took on new roles throughout the pandemic from helping Meals On Wheels deliver food to the community, senior and recreation centers, to providing transportation for Honeywell employees charged with making N95 masks. The paratransit team seamlessly took on these duties, demonstrating that strength as a community can make a difference.

SUSTAINABLE TRANSIT FOR A HEALTHY PLANET CHALLENGE
RIPTA is building on its strategic plan to help answer a call to action from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regarding the further reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. This makes RIPTA one of approximately 165 transit agencies working to develop climate action strategies with measurable goals to achieve Greenhouse Gas Emissions targets.
The FTA is encouraging participating agencies to develop action plans that deal with greenhouse gas emission strategies, such as fleet transition, service expansion, and making facilities more resource efficient. Each agency’s plans will be completed and shared with the FTA by Earth Day (April 22) 2022.
