That’s too easy a dismissal. I would site the plight of any oppressed people.

Regardless of the rhetoric that is diminishing the belief in our system, I believe that our system is the best – and can be improved.

My philosophy of government is that it’s purpose is to do the things that people as individuals can’t – build roads, regulate pollution, promote the peace, and more.
Like any human endeavor, government is often flawed and frequently inefficient.

All that said, our local government is largely functional - but often unresponsive and sometimes poorly managed. 

Plus, the model for road management seems derived from other cities that have wide streets.

Damaging cars and creating hazards for cyclists is a poor way to control traffic on the East Side and everywhere else across town.
