[Summit] Fw: Parking Ban + Snow Emergency (from the City, W. Broadway, S. Prov./Elmwood & the suburbs) [Winter Storm Bulletin (8th series), Vol. 2, no. 3]

Good afternoon (as snowflakes start to waft over Federal Hill),
I’ve pasted below snow warnings, information and advice from several different sources (the City of Providence, the West Broadway Neighborhood Ass’n, the South Providence/Elmwood Crime Watch, and the R.I. Broadcasters’ Ass’n).
I apologise for some inevitable duplication, but timeliness seems more important than editorial neatness. (Some of the notices about the same topic seem to differ slightly.)
Good luck to you and yours this weekend,
Dave

Providence Citywide Parking Ban to Begin at 2AM Tomorrow, January 29, Until Further Notice

Due to expected winter storm conditions, a citywide parking ban will go into effect at 2AM, tomorrow, January 29, until further notice. Residents with overnight parking passes are advised that they cannot park on the street during the duration of the citywide parking ban. All vehicles parked on the street in violation of the citywide parking ban will be ticketed and towed to ensure that roadways can be plowed curb to curb. More information available on the city website.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Residents with overnight parking passes may park on the even numbered side of Messer, Sycamore, Parade, Hollywood, Dexter, Harrison, and Hammond streets as part of the city's snow emergency street parking pilot program. People who choose to park on these streets will need to move their cars off the even side within 8 hours of the snow ban being lifted so that the streets can be plowed. See below for a map of the streets included in the program, and visit the WBNA website for more info. Email seth.zeren at gmail.com with any questions about this program.

During extreme cold, the Providence warming centers are open to the public for those who need to seek temporary shelter. View a list of facilities serving as warming centers here. You can also visit Providence's Snow Ready website for other information on preparing for the storm.
