Neighbors,

The historic Bridgham Estate on Rochambeau Avenue (440) Rochambeau goes to auction on Wednesday. Ruthless developers will surely bid.

Our Councilwoman, Helen Anthony, just introduced an ordinance to the Providence City Council to include the estate in the Historic District Overlay as a Providence residential landmark.

If this provision passes, it will provide an opportunity for us to work with developers on a plan consistent with our vision for the neighborhood.

WE ABSOLUTELY NEED YOUR SUPPORT to pass the Historic District Overlay & preserve the integrity of our neighborhood.

We can't trust the developers to come up with a plan that is sensitive to the neighborhood.

The existing provisions allow for 7,500 sq foot lots: to get a sense of how jam-packed that is, look no further than the new development on Cole, Rochambeau, and Balton.

To stay abreast of developments, or be added to this neighborhood google group, please email:

BlackstoneNeighborhoodestate at gmail.com and/or send a text to 401-965-7840

Please forward this email widely to any potentially concerned residents & neighbors.

We need to build a strong coalition to fight unwanted development.

— Ward 2 residents of the Blackstone Neighborhood Organization
