Yeah, I saw that on Saturday, and my first thought was to start
circulating a petition, saying something like: "Please do not close
our friendly and convenient Shaw's supermarket at 50 Ann Mary St.,
Pawtucket."<br>
But I went down to the store first, and talked to a couple of managers
there, who told me that it was "a done deal". Shaw's is
owned by "Supervalu", a Minnesota-based giant chain (see

http://www.supervalu.com/sv-webapp/index.jsp</a>>, which "As one
of the nation's most formidable grocery retailers, SUPERVALU's nationwide

grocery retailing formats, blending price, service and selection to best
address the communities that we serve."<br>
Well, which serves its stockholders, anyway.<br><br>
