In the past I have had fireplaces, and now we have an outdoor fire pit; I am used to collecting downed or tossed wood of various kinds, <br><br>but if you are going to pick up your own wood it is fairly important to learn to recognize the ones you DON'T want!<br>
<br>Sumac, a tree-weed, STINKS, as do some bushes, which grow quite large. <br><br>Pine and hemlock smell GREAT, but build up tars in your chimney, requiring more frequent cleaning, and/or the increased risk of chimney fires, according to some folks.<br>

wood for sale.  Here in the city sometimes you can find cut wood on<br>
the curb waiting for someone to haul it away.<br>
