The car snooping (he may have been snooping around our house, too, I just don't know) occurred on Lauriston Street in the block between Hope and Bayard.<br><br>The break-in location has not yet, to my knowledge, been disclosed. And it probably wasn't the same person, because the kid I saw was a teenager and relatively short of stature.<br>
<br>Liberty, I don't think anyone is talking about jumping to conclusions about African American males. I do think it's my responsibility as a homeowner and neighbor to keep track of who our neighbors are, and to notice and report suspicious activity -- including casing -- whether the people involved are white, black, or any combination of ethnic traits. <br>

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td style="font: inherit;" valign="top">The individual who is suspected of breaking into houses in the Summit Neighborhood was seen snooping around a car at 1:30pm today (Saturday, August 14th). A neighbor came out, and watched him. When he noticed her, he fled into another neighbors backyard. I checked the area about five minutes later, but he was gone. He does fit the description of the person mentioned previously, about 5'10 to 6 feet tall, thin, and sporting an unkept afro. Most likely in his late teens or early twenties. Apparently he's not nervous about committing crimes in broad daylight. Please keep an eye out and alert the police if you see him. </td>
