Sharon: We haven't moved a piano in quite a while, but in a number of moves around Rhode Island spanning 3 decades we always used Barnes Moving & Storage, and loved them. They moved our Baldwin Acrosonic (not quite a console but a big heavy spinet from the 1940s) and we had no problems at all.... including a move out of a 3rd floor apartment on Morris Ave. to a 2nd floor apt. on Hope St. (That was interesting to watch! Out the window it went via pulley/winch system set up in the window frame.) Later they moved it to another 2nd floor apartment on Emeline St. Yes, we moved a lot!
And they weren't available for our last move, from Lewis St. PVD to Warwick in '07. But probably worth getting a quote from them -- they were always reasonable.
